Lisnens Crowdsourcing Sounds app is a global audio data collection app to assist many people with hearing loss gain awareness of their environment.

Many people with hearing loss experience barriers to hearing sounds that they need to respond to immediately. In the case of emergency sounds, like fire or security alarms, those sounds, if not heard, is a matter of life and death. In addition, laws and regulations around the world are limited to helping people who are Deaf and hard of hearing in certain places and spaces.

The Lisnen Sounds app collects many emergency sounds or sounds that seek ones attention. The goal is to build robust artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms with crowdsourcing data to better predict environmental sounds worldwide.

Begin to record sounds as they are happening right from your smartphone and upload them to our database. Then, track the sounds you shared and recommend the app to others to improve our future!

For example, when any of these sounds occur in your space: fire alarm, smoke alarm, security alarm, civic alarm, running water, door knock, pet noise, or baby cry, record and share the 10 seconds sound clip with us. No fart sounds or any other weird sounds, please. For those sounds, we love to continue to it tune out!

Why should you record and contribute?
* Everyone deserves equal access to information. Our society prefers people with hearing. By recording sounds in real time from your smartphone, you give people with hearing loss a chance for equal access.
* You can help someone out. Not everyone has the privilege to hear, and sharing your strength is a feel-good thing.
* Its the right thing to do. We all aspire to live a safe and happy life, but things go wrong, and others should be at a disadvantage just because of their limitations.
